Brides angry after handmade wedding dresses fall part

Dozens of brides have claimed their big day was nearly ruined when their handmade wedding gowns began to fall to pieces.

The women complained to trading standards after the wedding dresses , worth more than £100,000 in total, started coming apart at the seams.

Natalie Howes, 30, said: “Both shoulder straps snapped before the reception had even started. Then the skirt began to unravel.

“It was supposed to be the happiest day of my life but I spent it worrying the dress would fall apart altogether.”

Kayley Criddle, 26, who also used La Belle Bridal Wear, in Swansea, said: “My wedding dress smelled strongly of damp in the aisle. I was paranoid people might think I smelled.”

Charlotte Hurford, 35, said: “I felt I had a bed sheet on, not my wedding dress .”

The city council added: “We are aware of the complaints and are investigating.” The shop refused to comment.
