Prospective brides and grooms can take a big step toward planning their wedding dresses by attending the Bridal Showcase on Jan. 8 at the Victoria Community Center.
The 22nd annual event is sponsored by the Pilot Club of Victoria and features about 70 vendors covering all needs for the wedding day.
Vendors include formal wear, photographers, caterers, florists, musicians, event locations and more.
"The Bridal Showcase is a one-stop shop for brides and grooms in the area," said Susan Riedesel, Pilot Club treasurer and Bridal Showcase co-coordinator. "It's everything they need in one place."
Doors open at noon with the fashion show starting at 2 p.m. Runway models will show off fashions from Al's Formal Wear, Kloesel's Cleaners & Formal Wear, Dillard's, The Bridal Wear, Jade & Madalynn Quinceanera Boutique and New Beginnings.
Valarie McGuill, Pilot president, will narrate the fashion show. The stage will be decorated by Classy Linens and Décor. DJ James Zamora will provide the music.
In addition to Riedesel, show coordinators include Sandra Lewis and Margarette Clapsaddle.
The event is one of two major fundraisers for the Pilot Club of Victoria, founded in 1948, whose focus is brain-related disorders and injuries. The Victoria club's signature project is Project Lifesaver.
Project Lifesaver helps provide rapid response for adults and children who wander due to Alzheimer's, Autism, Down Syndrome, dementia and other cognitive conditions.
Project Lifesaver provides equipment, training, certification and support to law enforcement, public safety organizations and community groups.
Two Pilot Club members are state trainers for Project Lifesaver International and train law enforcement officers from other agencies throughout Texas through the Victoria County Sheriff's Office.
